Maz Compton has been a fixture in Australia media for over a decade, from the early days of hosting MTV, to the heights of hosting a National Breakfast Show. She’s a Co-Owner of F45, an ambassador for Dry July Foundation and Variety The Children’s Foundation and author of The Social Rebellion – True Freedom Begins with A Cheeky Month Alcohol-Free.
Maz has spent most of her adult life in front of the camera or behind a microphone hosting over 3million shows. She got her break on MTV as a VJ (video jockey) and spent a few years on red carpets and globe trotting hosting Awards shows. She moved into radio and within a few years went from the graveyard shift, to National Drive and Sydney Breakfast time slots. She’s carved out an extraordinary career which she reflects fondly upon and has practically interviewed every celebrity you can think of.
On January 1, 2015 Maz decided to experiment with living alcohol-free for 31 days and (six years later) has not had a single drink. During this time she experienced an ‘Aha moment’ that ignited a passion to create a platform that helps people redefine their relationships with alcohol and discover true freedom.
Join me on today’s episode as Maz shares her story on manifesting her dream job (twice) and her newfound passion for helping people redefine their relationship with alcohol, equipping them with better coping strategies, how to effectively handle rejection, rewrite social norms and educate women about the unspoken shame of drinking to cope with life.
